Joseph Smith, President / Chairman

Joseph brings a wealth of management experience in the wholesale industry to Rocky Mountain Wines, including sales of food, beverage and tobacco products both nationally and internationally.  Representing products from around the world, Joseph has managed their importation and national distribution across Canada and the U.S.  His extensive contacts include large retail distributors in Canada and the U.S., in addition to many public and private institutions, restaurants and independent specialty food retailers.

Denis is a career veteran with some 35-years experience in British Columbia’s Liquor Distribution Branch, including 20 years as a Senior Manager in one of BC’s largest stores.  He is a consummate liquor industry professional who brings a lifetime of experience and a vast network of retail business contacts to our firm.

Tim Ellison, Sommelier / On-trade Sales                                      tim@rockywines.com

Tim has over thirty years of experience in the wine and food business.  He is well known nationally and provincially for his influence on industry standards, and has achieved recognition for his work in the newly thriving BC private wine and liquor industry as a writer, educator and promoter of fine wines.  A certified Sommelier, he has numerous contacts in the industry and represents Rocky Mountain Wines to restaurants, hotels and other on-trade institutions.

Gord has diplomas in Systems Management, Communications and other administrative fields and has extensive experience in both the public sector and private business environments.  His strong background in business management, technical and problem-solving skills, as well as an in-depth knowledge of wine and spirits ensure efficiency for the company and for the interests of our clients.

Shamala is a CGA (Certified General Accountant) with a solid background in financial management, and extensive experience liaising with business, government and banking bureaucracies. She provides critical financial services and advice in conjunction with regional and multinational issues.
